Holy mackerel.
Although I can see the light at the end of the tunnel I am so ready for this journey to come to a roaring halt.
We began ripping down walls in the kitchen on the 28th of August. It is now November first. Two and a bit months of unavoidable mess, less than nutritious meals, a life consisting of nothing but thoughts about what we need to do next, hours upon hours spent demolition-ing cleaning sweeping gibbing floor fixing painting more painting sanding more sweeping kitchen putting-togethering bench sanding bench oiling and theres still more to come. I honestly feel like it hasn’t stopped. Apart from a few trips to the beach and minimal breakfast/dinners out, it really hasn’t.
I feel blessed to be able to be turning this incredible space into exactly what we want and I am totally #firstworldproblems winging right now but omg, we’re so done.
The transformation has been unimaginable. We kept some of the cabinetry from the original kitchen to put into James’ man cave for storage which we fixed into place on Sunday arvo and I honestly can’t believe that they were once the kitchen in our home. It looks completely different now.
I am so glad I’ve taken loads of pictures throughout the process because I feel like when you do these kinds of things you almost forget where you started.
Here is the transformation from then until where we are right now.
We are currently at the stage where I am oiling our wooden benchtops in hopes to cut out the holes for the sink and the stovetop by the weekend so I will, for the first time in two whole months, have a functioning kitchen!!! Hallelujah!
I know a lot of you have been following the process on Facebook and Instagram but if you want to really see what goes on make sure you add me on Snapchat, you can do so by clicking this link right here – www.snapchat.com/add/iamstellarblog
10 Things I Am Looking Forward To When This Is Done:

- Being able to clean and it say clean for longer than .7 of a second
- Having a life outside of our home, doing normal human being things
- Seeing my friends (see above)
- Not having trades people coming in and out of our house
- Not feeling totally and completely exhausted at 9pm every evening
- My lounge can go back to just being a lounge
