Sometimes in life you are given chances to fly. You have no idea if you will actually be able to float above the ground gracefully, in-fact, there is a possibility that as soon as you leap you will come crashing down. You, ultimately, are the one who makes the decision of weather or not it is something you are willing to risk everything for.

I started my little business, Stellar Photography + Design, in 2011 and since then I have come so incredibly far. I have so far chosen my niche, created my style and built a portfolio I am incredible proud of. The little business has been successful in its own right, I have always wanted to grow it further however as there are bills to pay and puppies to feed it’s always been just a dream. I have recently applied and been offered a job to work part time as a photographer at an incredible studio, Jo Frances Photography Auckland.

There was a position advertised on seek a few months back and it is a very rare occasion that photography jobs become available, let alone a job at a studio I respect and could see myself working for. After a bit of to-and-frowing to see how we could make it work, I officially start next Tuesday and I could not be more excited!

Stellar will be slowing down a little as with this new job, along with my other part time job, I am going to be working 6 days a week. Even though I am not working for myself this is such a dream come true. I am going to learn so much, the experience is going to be priceless and the fact that I get to photograph people on a weekly basis makes the left side of my brain all tingly with passion. If you’d like to take a peek at the studio I am talking about head here. They have a wicked studio in Central Auckland that is massive, and light and the prop cupboard…. omg.

“It’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting”

02.12.14 – Although I gave this a good go, unfortunately working for someone else, a high turnover studio, wasn’t for me. I am so excited I am back to growing my own little business :)
